Veterans Miracle Center Erie will be holding a live auction on October 29th. The doors open for preview at 10am with the auction set to begin at 12 to 2:30. The auction will be held at the American Legion Millcreek Post 773, 4109 W 12th St, Erie, PA. The Veterans Miracle Center is currently seeking donated items for the auction as well. On October 19 from 6pm-7pm, Erie VAMC will host a Town Hall focused specifically on healthcare for Women Veterans. The Town Hall will take place in the 2nd Floor Conference Rooms. For more information, call the Erie VAMC Women Veterans Program Manager at 814-860-2907. 

On October 11 from 10am-2pm, veterans are invited to attend the Venango County Veteran Resource Fair located in the Rocky Grove Fire Hall, 29 Shuffstall Street in Franklin, PA.

From October 4, 2016 through July 30, 2017, the Erie VA Medical Center will hold free fitness classes for veterans every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm in its second floor conference rooms. For more information, call the Erie VAMC Health Promotion team at 814-860-2695.

Erie VA Medical Center, and its Community Based Outpatient Clinics, is hosting FREE Saturday flu clinics to Veterans eligible for VA healthcare. The first Saturday Flu Clinic is Saturday, September 17 from 9am-12:30pm. Starting Monday, Sept. 19, walk-in flu clinics will be available M-F at the Erie VAMC from 1pm-3pm and at the CBOCs from 8am-3pm. VA CBOCs will also have a Saturday Flu Clinic on September 24 from 9am-12:30pm at their Meadville, Astubula, Venango, and Warren locations. For all the latest flu information, please stay tuned to the Flu Hotline at 814-860-2730 or visit www.erie.va.gov/flu. 

On Tuesday, September 20 from 5-8:30pm, Erie Together will be hosting a Bridges Out of Poverty Mentor Training Event at GECAC (18 W 9th St, Erie, PA). Erie Together needs volunteers to mentor participants from their Getting Ahead program, a 10-week course focused on goal setting as a means to overcome poverty. On Saturday, September 25, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be having an Out of the Darkness Community Walks at Presque Isle to raise awareness and funds that allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.
