Caregiver Appreciation Night

Steeles Trading Post & The Elusive Fox Boutique present a monthly event geared towards caregivers of disabled veterans, but ALL caregivers are welcome! Take a couple hours for yourself - relax, unwind, be pampered, and chat with other caregivers. A night of support and encouragement, led by the wife and caregiver of a 100% disabled veteran. The event will be held at Steeles Trading Post, located at 2424 Peach Street, Erie, PA on both Friday, January 19th from 6 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, January 20th from 10 am to 12 pm. There is also a Facebook group for caregivers of Erie and surrounding areas. If you are unable to attend our events, we would love to have you join the group so you can still be supported and encouraged and get to know other local caregivers! Military Share Produce Express

On Tuesday, January 30th at 5 pm, the Military Share Produce Express will be parked outside the Erie VA Medical Center's 2nd floor pavilion. This is a mobile food pantry which makes fresh, healthy produce and grocery items available FREE to Veteran and military families who qualify. This event is made possible, free of charge, through the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA. To see if you qualify, call (814) 860-2780 and register. Advanced registration is required.

Veteran Resource Fair at Waterford American Legion

On Saturday, January 20 from 1pm-4pm, Veterans and their families are invited to attend a free veterans resource fair to learn about VA services and community resources at the Fort LeBoeuf American Legion Post #285, located at 120 W 4th Street, Waterford, PA. Veterans who have never enrolled in VA healthcare are encouraged to bring their DD-214 service discharge papers with them to speak to an eligibility representative on-site to determine eligibility. For more information, contact the Fort LeBoeuf American Legion at 814-796-3910 or the Erie VAMC at 814-868-8661.

Job Club - Open to All Veterans

Are you a Veteran looking for employment? Erie VA Medical Center offers a Job Club EVERY MONDAY from 8:30am-11:30 am in their Behavioral Health Clinic to help you in your job search. Join them this coming Monday for a special guest speaker from the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. This is open to every Veteran - even if you're not enrolled in VA health care. We'll help you work on your resume, job search, prep for interviews and provide you with support along the way. Salute Your Health Live Cooking Demonstration

On Tuesday, January 30th from 12 pm to 12:30 pm and from 12:30 pm to 1 pm, all Veterans and their families are invited to attend the Erie VA Medical Center's Live Cooking Demo, led by Registered Dietician & Chef Dave Turko, and learn how to cook healthy recipes. PA Soldiers' & Sailors' Home Open House

On Friday, January 19, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm, the Pennsylvania Soldiers' & Sailors' Home, located at 560 E 3rd St, Erie, PA, will be having an Open House for Veterans and Veterans' spouses interested in long-term care at this historic facility. Army National Guard Family Assistance Program

Wills and Powers of Attorney

On Tuesday, February 27, learn about estate planning fundamentals, long-term care choices, and Aid & Attendance benefit for Veterans and surviving spouses of Veterans. Attends will receive program handouts covering the issues discussed as well as a simple questionnaire that can be returned to C&E to prepare and execute a valid Will and Power of Attorney. The program is offered at two convenient times: Noon to 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Please, RSVP to (814) 333-4400 by Friday, February 23 to secure your seat.

Annual VA Veteran Health Fair

On Tuesday, February 27 from 10am-2pm, all Veterans and their families are invited to attend the fair to learn about all the VA programs and services available. The annual Veteran Health Fair will be in the Erie VAMC 2nd Floor Conference Rooms. VA health experts will be on-site, and eligibility representatives will be available to assist Veterans who have never enrolled.
