On Wednesday, February 28th at 5 pm, the Military Share Produce Express will be parked outside the Warren County Community Based Outpatient Clinic. This is a mobile food pantry which makes fresh, healthy produce and grocery items available FREE to Veteran and military families who qualify. This event is made possible, free of charge, through the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA. Erie VA Medical Center invites the entire community to get involved in the annual National Salute to Veterans Week from February 12-16. Get involved by scheduling a visit with patients and spread some Valentine's Day cheer to their residents. Steeles Trading Post & The Elusive Fox Boutique present a monthly event geared towards caregivers of disabled veterans, but ALL caregivers are welcome! Take a couple hours for yourself - relax, unwind, be pampered, and chat with other caregivers. A night of support and encouragement, led by the wife and caregiver of a 100% disabled veteran. The event will be held at Steeles Trading Post, located at 2424 Peach Street, Erie, PA on both Friday, January 19th from 6 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, January 20th from 10 am to 12 pm. There is also a Facebook group for caregivers of Erie and surrounding areas. If you are unable to attend our events, we would love to have you join the group so you can still be supported and encouraged and get to know other local caregivers! On Saturday, January 20 from 1pm-4pm, Veterans and their families are invited to attend a free veterans resource fair to learn about VA services and community resources at the Fort LeBoeuf American Legion Post #285, located at 120 W 4th Street, Waterford, PA. Veterans who have never enrolled in VA healthcare are encouraged to bring their DD-214 service discharge papers with them to speak to an eligibility representative on-site to determine eligibility. For more information, contact the Fort LeBoeuf American Legion at 814-796-3910 or the Erie VAMC at 814-868-8661. 

On Tuesday, January 30th from 12 pm to 12:30 pm and from 12:30 pm to 1 pm, all Veterans and their families are invited to attend the Erie VA Medical Center's Live Cooking Demo, led by Registered Dietician & Chef Dave Turko, and learn how to cook healthy recipes. This event will be held in the Erie VAMC's Patient Education Room in the 1st Floor. For more information, click here. 

On Friday, January 19, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm, the Pennsylvania Soldiers' & Sailors' Home, located at 560 E 3rd St, Erie, PA, will be having an Open House for Veterans and Veterans' spouses interested in long-term care at this historic facility. Calling all caregivers! Join us for an evening of relaxation, pampering, and bonding with fellow caregivers! Enjoy drinks, snacks, free gifts, discounts on shopping and much more! Entry fee is $5 per person (Donation; not required). This event, geared toward caregivers of disabled veterans (but all caregivers are welcome!), will be held Wednesday, December 20th from 6 pm to 8 pm at Steeles Trading Post in Erie.

Erie Vet Center is organizing a holiday party at American Legion Post 773 (4109 W 12th St, Erie) on December 11 from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. Veterans and their families are invited to a Town Hall on December 11 from 2 pm-3 pm in the Erie VAMC 2nd floor conference rooms to meet with the Erie VAMC leadership team and hear an update on their construction projects, new initiatives, and current programs and services. Erie VAMC would also like feedback on their services.
