Penn State Behrend
Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, is a four-year and graduate college of Penn State. Students can choose from over 120 clubs and organizations as well as 24 NCAA Division III varsity men's and women's athletic teams to participate in. Penn State Behrend's mission centers around teaching, research, and outreach.
Penn State Behrend is among Victory Media's list of Military Friendly Schools. Military friendly policies include "active duty or reserve military student returns without penalty after deployment, offering night classes, and having a formal policy in place regarding business conduct and compliance when admitting, educating, advising, and placing military and/or veteran students." The university also has a full-time financial aid conselor to help maximize the benefits veterans have earned and to help educate veteran students about lesser known services available to them. As long as incoming students are using military benefits, veterans, reservists, and their dependents may be eligible for in-state tuition even if living outside of Pennsylvania. In addition, Penn State Behrend offers an Army ROTC program through the Pride of Pennsylvania ROTC Battalion.
