Suicide Prevention Walk & Remembrance

On September 11th at noon, Erie VAMC is hosting their annual Suicide Prevention Walk in memory of those taken by suicide and in support of efforts made to prevent suicide among Veterans. All Veterans, their families, and community members are welcome to attend. VA staff will be on-site to provide information and resources. 

The walk will begin with a brief opening ceremony led by the Erie VA Chaplain, followed by a moment of silence and a short walk around the VA grounds.

Caregiver Appreciation Night

Steeles Trading Post & The Elusive Fox Boutique present a monthly event geared towards caregivers of disabled veterans, but ALL caregivers are welcome! Take a couple hours for yourself - relax, unwind, be pampered, and chat with other caregivers. A night of support and encouragement, led by the wife and caregiver of a 100% disabled veteran. The event will be held at Steeles Trading Post, located at 2424 Peach Street, Erie, PA on both Friday, January 19th from 6 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, January 20th from 10 am to 12 pm. There is also a Facebook group for caregivers of Erie and surrounding areas. If you are unable to attend our events, we would love to have you join the group so you can still be supported and encouraged and get to know other local caregivers! Military Share Produce Express

On Tuesday, January 30th at 5 pm, the Military Share Produce Express will be parked outside the Erie VA Medical Center's 2nd floor pavilion. This is a mobile food pantry which makes fresh, healthy produce and grocery items available FREE to Veteran and military families who qualify. This event is made possible, free of charge, through the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA. To see if you qualify, call (814) 860-2780 and register. Advanced registration is required.
