17th Annual Through a Veteran's Eye: A Salute

November 10th, 11th, and 12th, Active Aging will be hosting its 17th annual Through a Veteran's Eye: A Salute event to honor servicemen and women for Veterans Day. This three-day event will take place in Meadville, PA at the Community Center of Crawford County, located at 1034 Park Ave. The event is free and open to the public.

Each day opens with a flag-raising ceremony conducted by the Meadville VFW Post 2006 and the Vietnam Veterans Post 52. Memorabilia displays and demonstrations will be present throughout the event. This year, the speaker series ‘On the Homefront: Through a Civilian’s Eye' will include personal stories as well as the local effects at home. Brews, Board Games, and Banter

Team RWB will be at the Erie Brewing Company (6008 Knowledge Pkwy, Erie, PA) on June 14, 2018, starting at 7 pm. Come out, have some fun, meet new people, and try some tasty, locally brewed beverages! Weather permitting, they will be out on the patio where their dogs can join in the fun. You do not have to be a member to come.

Welcome Home Veterans Appreciation Event at the Zoo

The annual Welcome Home Veterans Appreciation Event at the Erie Zoo is coming up on Friday, July 13 from 6pm-9pm. All Veterans and their families are invited. Tickets become available starting Monday, June 11.  Tickets are FREE but limited so act fast (tickets are limited to four per Veteran). Call for or pickup tickets at the Transition & Care Management Office (814) 860-2567 at the Erie VAMC on the 1st Floor; Voluntary Service Office (814) 860-2453 at the Erie VAMC on the 2nd Floor; and Vet Center (814) 453-7955 at 240 W 11th St, Erie, PA.
